Terms of Service

By enrolling into a class, parents/carers accept and agree to abide by the following terms of service:

1. Fee Payment

1.1 A one-off non-refundable membership registration fee of £30 is charged on enrolment

1.2 Payment is for the term with the following payment methods:

  1. Pay for the term in full online

  2. Pay monthly using GoCardless

  3. Pay annually with a 10% discount

1.3 Enrolment automatically carries over to the next term. If you pay termly, at the beginning of each new term you will receive an invoice for that term which can be paid online. If you pay monthly, payment will be made by GoCardless mandate for each month of that term.

1.4 If you pay termly, fees must be paid in advance at the start of term.

1.5 If you pay monthly and a payment fails a transaction fee surcharge will be levied.

1.6 If you pay monthly and you cancel your GoCardless payment/mandate without notifying us, your enrolment and membership will be cancelled with immediate effect and your child will be removed from the class register. Should you subsequently wish to re-enrol, a £50 handling surcharge will be levied on re-enrolment.

1.7 A minimum of 1 month's notice is required to cancel your membership. If you pay monthly, the notice period will be taken from the next scheduled payment date after you give us notice.

1.8 If after 3 classes a student finds the class is not suitable, they can either change to another class or cancel their membership. In the latter case we will refund what you have paid less 3 classes with no fuss.  There is no refund for the Registration fee.

1.9 There are no refunds if a student is absent from class or if, due to Covid lockdowns, we pivot classes to the Zoom platform (see clause 5 below). There are no reductions for part term attendance.                                                   

1.10 On the rare occasion of class cancellation, the class will be re-scheduled usually during the school holidays. If it is not possible to re-schedule, fees will be deducted from the following terms fees. Students are also welcome to make up the cancelled class by attending a similar class.

1.11 If it is necessary to cancel a class due to adverse weather conditions or if student cannot attend a class due to their  participation in another CTA Performing Arts performance/event, class fees are not refunded.                                                                  1.12 If a student is asked to leave a class due to a breach of any of the conditions laid down in these terms & conditions no refund will be made.

 

2. Uniform

2.1. If a student is wearing inappropriate footwear or clothing the student will not be permitted to participate in the class.        

2.2. Jewellery items (including watches) which the teacher feels may cause injury or is inappropriate for the class must be removed or the student will not be permitted to participate in the class.

3. Class timing

3.1. Classes run continuously from the timetable without a break. Students should be dressed ready to start their class before entering the studio and leave promptly at the end of the class.                                                                                                                 

3.2. Students are asked to wait quietly outside the studio until their class begins.

4. Conduct

4.1. Parents/carers are not permitted to watch classes except in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the teacher.  This does not apply to some under 5's classes where parents/carers may be present during all or some of the class.

4.2. Students and parents/carers are expected to demonstrate respectful behaviour towards CTA Performing Arts and fellow students and parents/guardians. Non-compliance with this condition of membership may result in exclusion from CTA Performing Arts no refund for classes remaining.

4.3  The nature of dance and performing arts training requires students to carry out specific sets of physical movement and positioning according to the relevant training materials (eg. ISTD, LAMDA etc) and the coaching process will, on occasion, involve the teacher in touching the student to move the student's limbs or full body into the required movement/positioning.                         4.4. Students are not permitted to chew gum whilst in class.                                                                                                                              4.5. Students/parents/carers are responsible for their own property and bring items at their own risk.                                              

4.6. Students are not permitted to use mobile phones during class. Any mobile phones brought into class must be switched off or in silent mode.                                                                                                                                                                                                                

4.7 Students are not permitted to leave the studio during a class without permission from the teacher.                                                   4.8. Students are not permitted to sit out of a class unless they become unwell or injured during the class or if written consent is given by the parent/carer consent in advance.

5. Covid-19 

In the event of the imposition of Covid-19 government lockdown restrictions, CTA Performing Arts continue to deliver our high quality performing arts programme virtually via the Zoom platform for the duration of the lockdown.

6. Miscellaneous

6.1. Invoices and other communications/material essential to CTA Performing Arts out its obligations to customers are sent to parents/carers by email. These emails are not for marketing purposes and parents/carers must provide a valid email address and ensure that such emails from CTA Performing Arts not considered spam.                                                                                                         6.2 The school timetable may be revised at any time.                                                                                                                                         

6.3 CTA Performing Arts affiliated to the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD), the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts (LAMDA), the Dance Studio Owners Association (DSOA) and the International Dance Rewards (IDR).                                               6.4 Photographs and videos of students may be taken and used for promotional purposes and on social media.                          

6.5 Exams may be taken in ballet, tap, modern and LAMDA. Students are entered into exams at the discretion of the teacher.

PRIVACY POLICY

1. CTA Performing Arts committed to ensuring the privacy and security of your personal information in line with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

2. When you register and enrol for classes/workshops at CTA Performing Arts collect certain contact and other personal information. If  you are a parent/carer enrolling a child this information will cover parent/carer name, address, phone numbers, email addresses and student name(s), date of birth, medical conditions, school, where you heard of us, consent to photograph and video students for limited and specific promotional purposes to help achieve CTA Performing Arts (classes only). If you are an adult registering/enrolling in an adult class this information will cover name, address, phone number, email address, medical conditions, consent to photograph and video students for limited and specific promotional purposes to help achieve CTA Performing Arts. Some of this information is required to manage and administer CTA Performing Arts and will not be used for any other purpose. Some of the information is optional and is requested to help us better understand our customers and is only used as needed for CTA Performing Arts.

3. Your personal information will be accessed and used by CTA Performing Arts only for CTA Performing Arts purposes only. It will not be shared with third parties except as follows and strictly as required to enable CTA Performing Arts carry out its legitimate business and meet legal requirements. Both the exceptions below apply to children only.

a. Student name and date of birth for dance examination entries.                                                                                                    

b. Student name, date of birth and local authority to comply with the legal requirement of licensing with the local              authority for the CTA Performing Arts Shows.
