Chiswick Theatre Arts was founded in September 2008 by its Principal Miss Georgina Burns. Although CTA is a very young school it has grown rapidly, with new students discovering CTA by word of mouth. The school started life in a very small studio on the popular Devonshire Road, Chiswick and then expanded to rented premises at the beginning of 2010.
Our Aim
We believe that a training in dance and drama can play an important part in a child’s development. Each child is important to us, and their progress carefully monitored. We believe that Children’s Dance and Drama classes should be fun. All our lessons are well structured, fun and friendly and will help to improve a number of skills and qualities including co-ordination, rhythm, gracefulness, self-discipline, self confidence, social skills, intelligence and physical fitness. The benefits that dance and drama education can bring are unlimited and can be a wonderful aid in both scholastic endeavours and personal growth.
Classes at CTA - Children
We offer a variety of training in the Arts in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Musical Theatre, Street Dance, Drama, CTA Film School, Little Bear Feet, Football Dancing with Milligan Bear, Melody Movement, 1st Ballet with Melody Bear, Tip Tap Toe (Tap and Modern for 3 and 4 years), Little Mozarts (music class for 1-4 years) and Fairy Funtastical. Exams can be taken in ISTD Ballet, Modern and Tap.
Enrolments
All children’s classes are termly enrolment. If you are new to CTA then your child can try a class at CTA and if they like it they can then be enrolled for the term. However, some classes are very popular, so to ensure your place we advise that you do enrol for the term. If after your first class, you find that it is not suitable for your child, then we are more than happy to refund you (less the one class).
Summer Shows
We do an annual Summer Show where all children can be involved. Our summer show in June 2010 was held in the main house at Lyric Hammersmith to great success. The Lyric said it was the best show of its kind that they’d had at their theatre!
June 2011
There will be 2 different shows for 2011. We will stage our 1st full Musical Theatre production – Annie Jr (many classes will be involved in this production) and a dance and drama show (title tbc). Our show will take place at Questors Theatre Ealing.
Children’s Parties 2 years – 16 years
We are party experts! Our parties entertain thousands of very happy children each year! Popular parties are Fairy Parties, Princess Parties, Fairy & Pirate Parties, Pirate Parties, High School Musical Parties, Mamma Mia Parties, Street Dance Parties, Glee Parties & Zumba Parties. Our aim is to give your child the best birthday party ever.

Our New Premises
As of September 2010, Chiswick Theatre Arts has expanded into our own brand new dance premises! These large newly refurbished premises (£180K has spent on their refurbishment) are arranged over 3 floors and feature two brand new modern 800sq ft dance studios!

Our new premises are located in the heart of Chiswick. We are just of Chiswick High Road, next to Starbucks and diagonally opposite Belmont School. We are a 30 second walk from the main entrance to Sainsburys.

You can buy all your dance wear (at a 10% discount if you are a CTA student) at our shop on Devonshire Rd.

Adult Classes – Dance, Drama & Fitness
We have a range of adult classes running throughout the day and evening in Ballet, Tap, Dance & Stretch, Flamenco, Musical Theatre Dancing, Musical Theatre Singing, Zumba, Legs, Bums & Tums, Yoga, Acting & Theatre Directing.
There is no membership fee, and classes run on a drop in basis (except for Acting class and Theatre Directing class)
Our adult classes are a great way to get fit, have fun, learn new skills and meet like minded people. No previous experience is necessary and beginners are very welcome. If you have always wanted to learn a dance style, CTA is a great way to begin, as classes are run in a relaxed, friendly environment. No age limit!
