Frederique Sardais

Frederique Sardais has been practicing since 1995 and teaching in London since 2001. Her main inspiration comes from the Iyengar tradition (Glenn Ceresoli) and Scaravelli Yoga (John Stirk, Gary Carter). Through her private work Frederique started to deepen her expertise in Yoga Therapy (Yoga Biomedical Trust certificate 08, Doug Keller Yoga Therapy 09) and refine her teachings to address particular issues.

Frederique is also very passionate about womens health and further qualified in Pre-natal and Post-natal Yoga with the Birthlight Trust under the teachings of Francoise Barbira Freedman to offer a specialist approach to Pregnancy Yoga and Birth Preparation workshops for couples, and Post-Natal Yoga.

Her main intention is to use Yoga as tool to help restore balance to the body and nervous system and increase our general sense of Well Being. By adapting the practice to the individual's needs she aims to equip her students to carry on with a self-practice in a safe and enjoyable way. Her teaching style combines attention to alignment along the principles of the Iyengar tradition and allowing the body to find its own way of opening up, remembering that each one of us combines strength and tension with our own unique patterns. It is through guiding you to understand your own blueprint that she will lead you into releasing tension when needs be, building up strength where appropriate, whilst keeping awareness of how your practice is affecting you energetically, emotionally and mentally.

A Hatha Yoga class with Frederique will give you a chance to explore in more depth a certain aspect of practice, leaving you with the chance to apply what you will have gained either to your self-practice or any style of class you may be attending on a regular basis.  Frederique will challenge you at times physically, at others mentally, as she will encourage you to make the link between the experience on your Yoga mat and the challenges we all face in daily life... all in a lighthearted spirit  and with a touch of humor to leave you feeling refreshed and inspired to carry on exploring.
